This guide compares unlimited data eSIM prices from Holafly, Airalo, Saily, Nomad and SimplySIM for two example trips from the UK: a week in Spain and 10 days in Turkey. Of the prices we could verify on 15 October 2026, SimplySIM's was the lowest for unlimited data in our Spain and Turkey examples. The best choice still depends on your trip, so we also cover what to look for beyond price.

Last checked: 15 October 2026. All competitor prices were taken from each provider's own website on that date. Prices change often, sometimes daily, and sales come and go, so check the provider's site before you buy. Where we could not verify a price, the table says "check site".

How we compared

  • This comparison covers unlimited data plans only. Fixed-data plans (for example 5GB or 10GB) are priced very differently from one provider and country to the next, so compare those on each provider's site for your own trip.
  • We used the same two example trips at each provider and recorded the price shown on each provider's own site. We did not use third-party price lists or convert currencies ourselves.
  • Saily's website blocked our automated checks, so we could not verify its prices. That says nothing about Saily's prices, which you can check on saily.com.
  • Holafly's site showed us US dollars. The prices below are the pound prices listed in Holafly's own page data for UK customers. You may see a different currency depending on your location.
  • SimplySIM is our own service. We chose the two example trips, so treat this as one snapshot, not a full market survey. Results for other countries and trip lengths may differ.

Example 1: Spain, unlimited for 7 days

ProviderUnlimited, 7 days
Airalo£18.50
Holafly£21.00
Nomad£18.89
SailyCheck site
SimplySIM£15.69

Unlimited plans usually come with a fair-use limit or a daily high-speed allowance. SimplySIM's unlimited plans give 1GB a day at full speed, then continue at a slower speed. Holafly allows hotspot use with a daily cap. Check each provider's terms if you plan to stream a lot or share your connection.

Example 2: Turkey, unlimited for 10 days

ProviderUnlimited, 10 days
Airalo£27.00
Holafly£30.00
NomadCheck site
SailyCheck site
SimplySIM£23.49

Nomad lists a 10-day unlimited plan for Turkey, but we did not record its price, so check Nomad's site. For Turkey, also read our guide to Turkey eSIM restrictions, which explains the IMEI registration rules for longer stays. Airalo's Turkey page notes that registration is needed after 91 days.

Questions worth asking any provider

  • When does validity start? On install, on first connection in the destination country, or on purchase?
  • What is the fair-use limit on unlimited plans, and what speed do you get after it?
  • Which local networks does the plan use? This matters in rural areas.
  • Can you top up the same eSIM, or do you need a new one?
  • What is the refund policy if the eSIM doesn't work or you cancel your trip?
  • Is the price in pounds? Paying in another currency can add card fees.

Do you need unlimited data?

Unlimited is worth paying for if you will use a lot of data. That might be because you stream video on the move, upload lots of photos and videos, work from a laptop on your phone's hotspot, or share data with family. For maps, messaging, social media and the odd video call, many people use far less, and a fixed-data plan costs less. For example, SimplySIM's Spain 5GB 30 Days was £7.39 on 15 October 2026, against £15.69 for 7 days of unlimited data.

If you are not sure, start with a fixed plan from a provider that lets you top up the same eSIM. You can add more data if you need it, which avoids paying for unlimited data you never use. Our guide to how much data you need for a week abroad gives typical figures for common apps.

Watch the validity, not just the price

Many fixed-data plans last 30 days, even when you only need a week. That's useful if you return to the same country soon, or if your plans change. Plans that start when you first connect in the destination, rather than when you buy them, give you more flexibility to buy early.

Which should you choose?

For heavy use, compare unlimited plans on price, plan length and fair-use limits. In our examples, SimplySIM had the lowest verified unlimited price in Spain and Turkey. For light use, compare fixed-data plans on each provider's site for your destination. Whichever you choose, make sure your phone supports eSIM and is network-unlocked using our compatibility checker, and estimate your needs with the travel data calculator.

FAQs

Which provider had the cheapest unlimited eSIM in this comparison?

Of the prices we could verify on 15 October 2026, SimplySIM's unlimited plans were the lowest in our Spain (7 days, £15.69) and Turkey (10 days, £23.49) examples. Prices change often, so check before you buy.

Does this comparison cover fixed-data plans?

No. It compares unlimited plans only. Fixed-data prices vary a lot by provider and country, so compare the exact allowance and validity you need on each provider's site.

Is Holafly worth it?

Holafly suits people who want unlimited data without thinking about allowances, with plans from 1 to 90 days. It sells unlimited plans only, so light users may pay for more data than they need.

Why does the table say "check site" for Saily?

Saily's website blocked our automated price checks on the day we compared, so we could not verify its prices. Rather than guess, we suggest checking saily.com directly.

How often do eSIM prices change?

Often. Providers run sales and adjust prices regularly, so treat any comparison as a snapshot and check the provider's own site on the day you buy.
